The Gluten Free Pantry is a great place to shop on-line. They stock just about every gluten free item you will need. Shopping on-line is easier than shopping in a conventional store. Ingredients lists are listed in readable type (isn’t that a pleasant contrast to what you encounter at your grocery store?). Everything sold at The Gluten Free Pantry is celiac friendly. It’s OK to use your credit card on-line. Check out my article "Use My Credit Card On-line???" if you would like to read more about this issue.
Thanks to my partnering with The Gluten Free Pantry, I can give you the opportunity to choose items on my website and then move effortlessly to The Gluten Free Pantry’s site to actually purchase the products. There are three steps in the process:
Step 1: Choose an item from a pictorial shopping list like the one shown below. Click on the picture and move immediately to the Gluten Free Pantry site where you will learn more about the product. (You may need to scroll down the screen to get all the information.)
Step 2: Eventually, you will see two large buttons and need to make decisions::
- Press the ADD TO CART button — you have tentatively decided to purchase the item.
- Press the CONTINUE SHOPPING button— this will take you back to my site immediately
- Leave my site and continue shopping at the Gluten Free Pantry. To exercise, press one of the buttons at the left side of the screen
Step 3.Continue shopping as long as you wish. When you have , click on VIEW MY CART at the top of the screen on The Gluten Free Pantry site. You will have be given three options:
- EMPTY THE CART — this in effect cancels the order
- UPDATE THE CART — this choice allows you to change your mind about an item or to change the quantity desired.
- CHECK-OUT — Follow the directions on the screen to complete your order. The process will depend upon whether or not this is your first visit to The Gluten Free Pantry.
If you have limited experience shopping on-line, I hope that you can find a computer savvy celiac to walk you through the process. This will accomplish two things:
- If you both order foods, you can save significant money. Every on-line purchase has a shipping charge added to it. These charges drop dramatically when you order multiple items. The Gluten Free Pantry does not know or care how many shoppers combine orders as long as everything is paid for on the same credit card and shipped to the same place.
- It reduces the fear factor. The first time I had ever shopped on-line was shortly after my celiac diagnosis. My son was coaching me by long-distance telephone but I was still expecting disaster. Believe me, you’ll get over that feeling. I did!
After wading through all these directions, you are finally ready to actually do some shopping. Your first shopping list "Gluten Free Bread" is published below. If you would prefer to shop for some other type of food, scroll down to the end of this pictorial shopping list to find out what is available:
