What does “Gluten Friendly” Mean?

0 Comments 07 May 2015

The term “gluten friendly” has no legal definition since it is seldom,if ever, used to food stores or other areas regulated by the Food and Drug Administration. It is frequently used in restaurants.

This menu excerpt shows the most common use of the term ‘gluten friendly’: ¬†“All products used on this menu are gluten free. However, we are a flour rich environment and although we have taken every precaution in our execution of this menu, it is possible that some cross contamination may occur.” The statement is clear, ¬†concise, and hopefully accurate.
