The Search for Gluten Free Bisquick

5 Comments 13 August 2010

I can’t wait to try gluten free bisquick if for no other reason than to thank General Mills for one of the first major companies to acknowledge the importance of the gluten free community.

I wrote about gluten free bisquick last month. I was pleased that recipes using the new mix were becoming available and that the company acknowledged that — because we’d be using rice flour rather than wheat flour — that the new and standard versions of bisquick were not interchangeable.

But where is the product? I’m still waiting. From looking at our store shelves, you would suspect that General Mills regarded Portland, Oregon, as a poor market for gluten free products. I suspect that mostost of the nation seems to feel the same way at this moment.

I recently discovered two bloggers who have not only found gluten free bisquick, but have used it and written about their experience. Click here to read what The Gluten Free Mom reported on her blog. This link will take you to the blog Food, Living, and Everything Else. I hope I’ll be able to write about gluten free bisquick soon.

I am looking for Bisquick Gluten free. I have seen it advertised but unable to find it in stores. I am in Renton WA. Please let me know where I can find this product. I miss using bisquick expecially for my routine Sunday pancake breakfast. Myself and 2 of my children are celiac.
    Thank you
    Mary

I found the Bisquick in a Wal Mart grocery department. It was on a shelf underneath the regular Bisquick. It comes in a small box (1 pound I believe) and cost me almost $4.00. I made a recipe off the regular Bisquick box (used the gluten free, of course) and what I made came out great. My husband has to eat gluten free and I have been doing it with him. In the long run it is easier to buy the gluten free for the both of us. Good luck in finding the Bisquick..

Gluten Free Bisquick has arrived in Pierce County, WA. We have found it in the last couple of weeks at Fred Meyer (downtown Puyallup) and at the Winco on South Hill in Puyallup. We made the impossible cheeseburger pie and it was wonderful. Unfortunately, our two children did not agree:( We are looking forward to GF Bisquick pancakes this weekend and are very thankful that Bisquick is offering GF!

    Re: Gluten Free Bisquick

I went on the web and put in the words New Gluten Free Bisquick. Different Bisquick web sites came up, but there was one actually named New Gluten Free Bisquick. I clicked on that and it brought me up to the Bisquick Gluten Free Page. On that page there is a box that says product location. Click on that and the next page has questions that you answer and they will be able to help you find where the gluten free bisquick is sold in your area. Hope this helps…this looks like a good web site to get some good recipes.

ok I promise…I do not work for Publix Supermarkets but I found it at my local Publix in Tampa Fl!
I loved it and my husband (who is not a celiac! ) thought they were as good as regular pancakes. He’s a good sport and usually eats what I eat although he doesn’t always like the GF stuff
