Gluten Free Restaurant Meals

1 Comment 03 October 2009

Finding gluten free restaurant meals can be a real challenge. Judging from responses to this website, it is your major concern. I’ve designed a power page on this subject and have taken the liberty of publishing it even before it is “ready for prime time”. As you probably know, I recently gave this site a “face lift” and the formatting in some of my articles suffered during the transfer. I’ll get that fixed as soon as possible. In the meantime, please visit my power page by clicking the tab at the top of this page or by clicking here.

    Hi,

I just got the chance to eat at BUCA DI BEPPO in Thousand Oaks, CA this week. They had a very nice laminated Wheat Free – Gluten Free Menu. The food was Excellent and the Waitress knew all about Gluten Sensitivity along with others who worked there. So, I had a very wonderful experience at this restaurant and would like tell others. So, that is why I am writing to you, so you may pass the information along

Anyway, here is what I had to choose from:

    GLUTEN-FREE ITEMS:

    Salads:

    Mixed Green Salad
    Apple Gorgonzala Salad
    Chopped Antipasto Salad
    Mozzarella Caprese

Entrees – Ask for all of the following not to be dusted in flour

    Chicken with Lemon
    Chicken Marsala
    Veal Marsala
    Chicken Saltimbocca
    Sides

    Green Beans
    Garlic Mashed Potatoes
    Italian Broccoli Romano
    Italian Sausage and Peppers
    Desserts

*Cheesecake with Raspberry Sauce (There is no crust)

*You have to ask about the Cheesecake it is normally not on the Gluten Free Menu, but this one was because it was made Crustless, so no worry for Glutens. . . .

My I choose to eat was:

    Chopped Antipasto Salad
    Chicken Saltimbocca
Cheesecake with Raspberry Sauce, which I shared with my family

    Here is the Addres:

    BUCCA DI BEPPO

    205 N. Moorpark Road

    Thousand Oaks, CA

    805.449.3688

I did call ahead to ask them if they had a Gluten Free Menu and to see what there understanding was about eating Gluten Free. They were very helpful and understanding over the phone, and when I went to the restaurant they even remember talking with me on the phone. So, I had a very wonderful experience with Bucca Di Beepo in Thousand Oaks and would like to pass my experience on to other who would like to find a safe restaurant to eat at.

    Sincerely,

    Cathi L. Gross
