“How do a person know that they are viewing a site that is legitimate?” Great question! It really got me thinking. I soon modified the idea a bit — what am I doing to give anyone reason to believe what I am saying on this site? That’s rather important question to me. I’m contracting with another computer service company and in a week or so you will be seeing this site in a much different and in a format that will certainly more inviting and hopefully more useful. I’m proud of the reason for the change. The system I purchased in 2006 seemed to have capacity than I couldn’t think about using — but my computer skills have improved greatly and the amount of celiac-related information has grown dramatically.
Since I must change anyway, this is a great time to collect my thoughts and think about what I am doing to incease your confidence in this site and your faith in me as its moderator.
1. In most cases, I give you by information by linking you to the site containing that information. If the site is updated, you get the most current information. On the other hand, if the link does not work, the most probably reason is that the person who wrote it removed it from the internet because it was incorrect or so obsolete that it was not worth rewriting. That’s important (if sometimes unwelcome) information.
2. I report information that I read on the internet but leave the assumptions to my visitors. For example: we often hear about gluten free pizza crusts, but does that mean that all the ingredients in the pizza are OK and that it was prepared in an appropriate environment? Another example: Trader Joe’s has a seven page list of products labeled “No Gluten Ingredients Used”. Does that mean that there is no cross-contamination”? We all have to make our own decisions. My function is to provide the information you need.
What else do I need to be doing? Your trust is the essential ingredient in the success of this website. This is the ideal time to make changes. My e-mail address is gfceliac@gmail.com.

This is one of the first sites I accessed when I was diagnosed. I’ve been very pleased with the information I’ve found here. Yes, I trust you or I wouldn’t come back.
