The current recession is affecting how we feel about food. The celiac’s budget for gluten free food is a major part of his or her medical expenses. This makes dealing with the current recession even more difficult. Here are some internet links that may be helpful:
This article, titled "Recession Romance", talks about preparing and sharing a romantic meal at home.. Not inexpensive, but keep in mind that almost any meal is less expensive than its restaurant equivalent. This article focusses on Valentine’s Day, but the general ideas apply to any season.
Here’s an article about pinching pennies on the gluten free diet. My hunch is that the prices mentioned are hopelessly out-of-date but that the general ideas are valid.

For more hints on this subject, I recommend Gluten Free Celiac Search, a google search engine that I have tailored to meet the needs of the gluten free community. I’ve already programmed three searches into that system. Press the appropriate key to research the topics gluten free budget, gluten free economical. and gluten free inexpensive. Go directly to the search engine if you prefer to type in your own searches. To return to this page at any time, press on the arrow in the upper-left corner of your screen. (You’ll probably need to do this more than once.)
