Gluten Free Onion Bagels…a Product Review

Comments Off 07 February 2009

I’m a great fan of products from The Grainless Baker, and their gluten free onion bagels made me even more enthusiastic. They taste great and have a wonderful texture, especially when toasted. They are a bit small for making a sandwich, but they are great with butter and/or cream cheese.

These gluten free bagels are made on shared equipment come in packages of 4,  and have an estimated shelf life of 8 months if kept frozen. The primary ingredient is rice flour. They are available frozen from The Gluten Free Mall.

As I mentioned, I’ve loved every Grainless Baker product that I have ever tasted, so I hate to make even this small criticism. These celiac-friendly bagels are made primarily from rice, as are most Grainless Baker products. Rice is most certainly a grain. So explain the name "Grainless Baker". We celiacs need to be more assertive!
