My resolution to lose weight in 2009 has little to do with my gluten free lifestyle. Millions of Americans are making the same resolution for the same reasons. But celiacs face some additional weight-loss issues. I’ll use myself as an example:
I already have a complicated diet and some weight loss diets are — lets face it — just as difficult to master. On the other hand, there was a time when the gluten free diet seemed like an unbearable burden. I persevered and eventually mastered that challenge. I can do the same thing with a lower calorie diet.
I already have enough restrictions on my diet. I don’t want to declare any more foods off-limits. On the other hand, I have found foods that are both delicious and gluten free. I will find things that are tasty, gluten free, and low in calories.
My last article on this subject contains more specific information. My purpose in this article is to help (and perhaps some of you) make the “attitude adjustment” needed to live a life that is both gluten free and low in calories . Wish me luck. I’d love to publish your ideas about gluten free/low calorie living. Send me an e-mail at gfceliac@gmail.com or leave a comment at the end of this or any article.
