Gluten Free Christmas… The Gifts
A celiac-friendly Christmas is too big a topic to cover in a single article. I can’t write that well nor can I expect you digest everything in one sitting, so for the next three days I will write publish Christmas articles. Today’s (11/28/08) posting talks about Christmas gifts. Tomorrow (11/29) I’ll write about the wonderful foods associated with the season. Finally (11/30) I will talk about the people (gluten free and "regular") who will share our joy this season. My final step will be to republish everything in one place so that you’ll have it for easy reference this month. If you need to see all my information related to gluten free Christmas in one place, please click here.
Hopefully, these suggestions will be appropriate for everyone on your gift list who lives gluten free:
GIFT CERTIFICATES. The Gluten Free Mall offers gift certificates in $25, $50, and $100 denominations. The Gluten Free Pantry issues a $25 gift certificate. Read the fine print carefully before choosing this option; there are restrictions as to how the certificate can be used. Restaurants like The Outback Steakhouse and P.F. Chang’s China Bistro provide gift cards that provide another great way to give the gift of gluten free meals.
BOOKS AS GIFTS. This link will take you a display of some of the best cookbooks, reference books, and how-to manuals that celiacs and others living gluten free will cherish. If you can’t obtain the books locally, click on the appropriate book cover to purchase it from Amazon.com.
STOCKING STUFFERS. Every celiac carries an "emergency supply" of food bars to tide them over when celiac-friendly food is unavailable. Click on whatever picture catches your eye to see the food bars available at The Gluten Free Pantry:
