Opportunities for gluten free restaurant meals, bakery products, and grocery shopping abound in Minnesota. I have arranged this list alphabetically by the name of the city:

Alexandria. Pete’s Country Market, 2612 Broadway Stree, Alexandria Phone 320.589.4332. This was recommeded to me by a reliable local source. I was not able to find a web site.

Anoka. Lakewinds Natural Foods. Enter the words “gluten free” in the box in upper-right corner of the screen.

Baxter (in the Brainard Lakes area). Jewel’s Specialty Food Market. “We are the only store in Central Minnesota dedicated exclusively to serving customers with gluten intolerance and food allergies”. The oprators of the store live gluten free. There is a retail store in Baxter and they also sell gluten free products on-line.

Chanhassen. Lakewinds Natural Foods. See the listing for Lakewinds Natural Foods in Ankona for information.

Eagan. Bittersweet Bakery. Click here for information about this gluten free bakery. You will be to click from there to information about the location as well as to a list of stores in the area that carry their products.

Eden Prairie. Crumb Gourmet Deli. The menu states “Need gluten free? Just ask?”. Click on the deli’s name for the location.

Falcon Heights. Chianti Grill. See the listing for the Chicanti Grill in Burnsville.

Fergus Falls. Meadow Farm Foods, 23064 County Highway 1, Fergus Falls. This market was recommended by a reliable local source. I was not able to find a web address.

Fergus Falls. Union Avenue Market, 116 South Union Avenue, Fergus Falls. I could not find a web address.

Mahtomedi. Leonardo’s Pizzeria. The menu page states that any pizza can be made gluten free.

Minneapolis. Pizza Luce. Serves gluten free pizza in its St. Paul and downtown Minneapolis locations on Tuesday and Wednesdays only. Click on the restaurant name for general information, then click on the name of the restaurant you will be visiting. The button linking you to the gluten free menu is in the upper left corner of the page.

Minneapolis. Ecopolitan. “Our entire restaurant menu is gluten free”. Actually, there are a few exceptions but they are very well marked. This is an “organic raw vegan food” restaurant. Click on the restaurant name for location and other details and/or click here for the menu.

Minneapolis. Madwoman Foods: Bakery and Foodery. This is a dedicated gluten free facility.

Minneapolis. The Wedge. A natural food co-op and deli.

Rochester. Gluten Free Cupboard. Sells gluten free baked goods and other celiac friendly.  They have a retail store and also sell on-line.

St. Paul. Cooqui Gluten Free Bakery. I understand that this bakery is an excellent source of celiac-friendly birthday cakes.

White Bear Lake. Donatelli’s posts a gluten free menu on-line.

The Northland Celiac Support Group publishes lists of dining recommendations and shopping suggestions in Minneapolis/St. Paul.
