Two organizations serve the Atlanta celiac community and both groups publish detailed lists specifying addresses, phone numbers, web addresses, plus relevant notes. One great feature is that some entries are typed in strike out mode, which I assume means that the restaurant was once on the approved list. The Atlanta Metro Celiac Group's list is dated 3/5/07 and the list offered by Celiac Disease Meetup Group of Atlanta is dated 6/1/07.
It seemed presumptuous to try to improve on the work of these groups, but I did discover a few independently owned gluten free restaurants in and around Atlanta.
Meehan's Public House. There are two locations in the Atlanta area but only the Sandy Springs location has some items listed gluten free on its menu. Click on the restaurant name for information. Be sure you have selected the Sandy Springs restaurant, then scroll down the menu page to note the gluten free options.
Chow Baby. Two locations in Atlanta. These restaurants are “stir fry bars”. You choose your own ingredients and they cook the meal for you. The menu states that the restaurant is gluten free but the menu does not provide specific details.
Saba Restaurant. This Italian restaurant has two locations in Atlanta. Click on the restaurant name for the locations. Click here for the gluten free menu.
Seasons 52. Two locations in Atlanta as well as 4 in Florida. Click on the restaurant name for the locations. Click here for the gluten free menu
Elsewhere in the state, I discovered the Sugo Restaurant and Tapas., with two locations in Roswell and 1 in Duluth. Click on the restaurant name for the location. Click here for the gluten free menu.
