More Gluten Free Restaurant Discoveries

Yesterday, I listed new celiac-friendly restaurants on this blog. The information came from e-mails from “people like you”. Your first hand experience is more useful than my web surfing. I also reported that one restaurant had gone out of business. That’s not good news, of course, but it is information that we need to share.

The Trumpeter Swan Public House in Mt. Vernon, Washington serves one gluten free entrée every evening and also provides gluten free beer and desserts. The restaurant does not have a website. I got this info from a visitor recommendation e-mailed to me on 8/02/08. Our source commented that the food is well worth the 60 mile drive from Seattle. More good news from Washington: Garlic Jim’s has announced that gluten free pizza is now available at its restaurant in Lakewood. For more details on both these items, see my article “Washington Gluten Free”.

The bad news is that Pizzanello’s in Alliance, Ohio, has gone out of business. Our source tells us (on 8/02/08)  that the store fixtures have all been auctioned off so that there is very little chance that they will reopen. I added this information to my article “Ohio Gluten Free”.

I added Francis Restaurant in Portland, Oregon, after the owner contacted me. Celiac friendly options are listed at the end of the on-line menu. It was a pleasure learn about and to list a new gluten free opportunity in my home town. Check out my article “Oregon Gluten Free”.

I recently received a wonderful e-mail from a person describing her experience as a celiac living in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. I added her letter to my article “Alabama Gluten Free

Thanks for sharing this information with the gluten free community. It is my privilege to publish it on your behalf. My e-mail address is gfceliac@gmail.com or you can leave a comment at the end of this or any article. Have a good day.

I noticed that you do not have a listing for a gluten-free restaurant in Tennessee. Matteo’s Pizzeria in Brentwood, Tennessee has wonderful GF pizza prepared in a designated GF area. I recently did a restaurant review of Matteo’s. I love their pizza!
