Actually the distinction is not all that important. Most bloggers ignore it.
Restaurant chains are groups of restaurants that have outlets in more than one state. Since I have organized my information state-by-state, I would have to repeat myself many times if I wrote about each restaurant group in every state that it serves. In some cases, this fifty repetitions of the same paragraph.
Restaurant chains are the gluten free travelers “best friend”. These restaurant groups have website that make it relatively easy to find a convenient location. They also have active legal departments which will guard against unfounded claims of gluten free service. This covers their tracks legally and protects us from being glutened.
Few travelers expect or want every meal to be a unique experience. Sometimes we just need a tasty meal that makes us feel safe because we have had experience with the restaurant chain at home. Of course, sometimes we enjoy a meal designed to help us experience the local culture and atmosphere. Then, an independently owned restaurant is most appropriate. To serve this need, I will publish an article about a different state each week. Check out the GLUTEN FREE AMERICA widget in the sidebar has already been covered or is on my schedule”. Eventually, I will cover every state and then it will be time to start over with updated information.
I am also working to improve my “Gluten Free Restaurant Chains" page by rewriting my report on each restaurant group to include additional information in a more readable format..
