Texas appears to be a great place to live gluten free. To begin with, here is information about independently owned gluten free restaurants in the Lone Star state:

Austin. Little Aussie Bakery. Their "about us" page states that "all food and products are gluten free."

Austin. Rise and Shine Bakery. Specializes in allergen free food. Serves lunch on weekdays.

Bryan. Village Foods. Has a complete aisle devoted to gluten free food. Located near the Texas A & M campus.

  Cedar Park. McGovern’s Organics. This firm delivers gluten free and casein free meals directly to your home.

We also have monthly meetings where this guide can be purchased along with cookbooks. We have outstanding guest speakers and a large support group who would welcome any new folks on the GF diet.     Meggs Cafe in Temple Texas. You can also buy their homemade gfree bread by the loaf if you give them 24 hours notice. NOTE: I e-mailed Megg’s Cafe on 12/31/10 asking them to confirm their gluten free status. Paul, “the gluten free guy”
