Offer Gluten Free Options at My Restaurant ???

Posted on 6:04 am by Gluten Free Guy

Some day, a restaurant owner will ask my opinion about whether to offer gluten free options at his restaurant. I’ll be ready for him:

’ll remind him that I am fiercely loyal to any restaurant that can meet my needs. I’m willing to travel a great distance to find a “safe” meal. In these days of outrageous gas prices, this should be important to any restaurant owner of manager.

I’ll tell him that I almost never dine alone. Whenever I am eating alone, it is easier, “safer”, and more economical to prepare something at home or even in my hotel room.

When I dine out with a group of my friends, I get to chose the restaurant. My friends will not drag me into a restaurant that I can’t handle.

I’ll mention that — like most celiacs — I am very active on the internet and attend gluten free support groups regularly. His celiac friendly restaurant will receive lots of no-cost on-line and word-of-mouth publicity.

I’ll have this conversation some day. We should all be ready to provide answers when the question is asked. Please send me an e-mail at gfceliac@gmail.com or leave a comment at the end of this or any article.

This article is Paul’s Personal Perspective. I’ll try to “stick to the facts” during the rest of the week, and publish articles like this on Sunday.  In case you are curious, I publish articles each and every day but stay “unplugged” on Sunday. I recommend this practice to everyone.
