The Outback Steakhouse…Where Celiacs Thrive

0 Comments 05 May 2008

The Outback Steakhouse is “home-away-from home” to most of us who live gluten free. They serve great food, have excellent ambience and service, and publish a gluten free menu on-line.

One minor caution: don’t dine there until you have studied their gluten free menu. Since it is a steak house, it “should” be easy to order a celiac friendly meal. This is not the case since the seasonings they use are the major issue. All this is spelled out on the gluten free menu. There are many options, but they are not obvious.

Carrabbas Italian Grill and Bonefish Grill are run by the same organization that operates The Outback Steakhouse. These chains also focus on serving the celiac community. I will review them in my next two articles. I plan to publish a restaurant review every Monday.
