Whole Foods Market…a Gluten Free Shopping Guide

Posted on 8:58 am by Gluten Free Guy

Whole Foods Markets provide most of the necessities for gluten free living. Stores are available everywhere, particularly since the merger with Wild Oats produced a giant nationwide chain. (You wil continue to see the term "wild oats" on the internet search engines but you will actually be directed to a Whole Foods Market site.)

The Gluten Free Bakehouse division of Whole Foods provides frozen bread and other bakery products to stores nationwide.

Each store has a gluten free products lists tailored to meet its specific situation. To find the list that you need, first select the store where you will be shopping, then click on “More store information”, and then click on “Special Diets”. You’ve reached the right place at last! Your final task is to choose “the gluten free list”, “the gluten free + casein free list”, or “the wheat free list”.

The Whole Foods website is a great source of recipes. Click here to search for what you need. Searching the term “gluten free recipes” will give you over 1000 choices. Entering the words “gluten free casein free recipes” will produce 250+ options. You may want to use this section of the site even if shopping at Whole Foods Markets is not an option for you.

Next Wednesday, I will write about Trader Joe’s, another great source of gluten free food. Have a great week.
