Dr. Schaer’s Gluten Free Bread Sticks…a Product Review

0 Comments 24 April 2008

“This traditional Italian snack is the perfect accompaniment to your favorite drink before a meal and whets your appetite for the main course.” I agree with that statement but would carry it one step further: I love Dr. Schaer gluten free bread sticks any time!!!

The bread sticks are gluten free as well as lactose, egg, and soy free. All ingredients are naturally gluten free. I was very pleased that there were three separate packages inside the box. This helped them maintain their delightfully fresh taste.

As so often happens, I don’t really remember what some foods tasted like before I started the celiac disease diet ten years ago. When this happens, I don’t try to compare the gluten free product to its wheat-based counterpart. What I can tell you in this case is  that I loved these bread sticks and that my wife’s reaction to them indicates that we will proudly serve them on any occasion to anyone.

Dr. Schaer is an Italian company, so you will see the name spelled on the package with two dots over the a and without the e. The spelling “Dr. Schaer” works if you are on the internet.
