Refocusing this Gluten Free Site

Regular visitors to this blog have probably noticed that I am attempting to reorganize things. I’m trying to make all the information accessible to anyone at any time. Like everyone in this nation, we suffer from information overload.

Here’s an example of what I’m talking about. I’ve published an article “Gluten Free Living in Minnesota”. It’s a useful article IF you live in Minnesota or IF you are planning to visit there in the near future. But will you be able to find an updated version of this article if life takes you to Minnesota ten years from now? No, and I intend to change that situation.

Judging from the statistics about the most-visited pages on this site, your primary concern is finding restaurants where it is possible to enjoy a gluten free meal. I’ve started working on two “Successful Celiac’s Guides”. I’ve published them even though they are woefully incomplete:

My “Gluten Free Restaurants Guide” is organized state-by-state and includes restaurant recommendations, links to Celiac Support Groups that provide lists of celiac-friendly restaurants in their area, and suggestions for gluten free food shopping for those meals that will not be eaten in restaurants.

Most of your gluten free meals will be eaten in chain restaurants, simply because there are so many of them and they are relatively easy to find. Since most of these restaurant chains are active in many states, it’s not practical to organize this information state-by-state. My “Guide to Chain Restaurants that Serve Gluten Free Meals” covers this situation.

There is other restaurant information posted on this site. These come from earlier attempts to “get my act together”. Hopefully, this information is still useful. Eventually, everything will be incorporated into one of the guides.
