Gluten Free Bargains…Celiacs and Budget Battles
Posted on 6:00 am by Gluten Free Guy
Celiacs (like everyone else these days) need to pinch pennies on their food budget. A great way to do this is to patronize the grocery section at Amazon.Com. They probably have the lowest food prices on the internet. The bad news is that they only sell items in case lots (usually 6-12 items per case). This obstacle can be overcome if two or three celiacs join together and agree to share an order. The best news is that groceries are eligible for free “Super Saver” shipping if the order exceeds $25. Ordering one or two cases will put you over the threshold.
For comparison purposes:
The Bumble Bars are $23.33 for a box of 15 or $1.55 each. They cost $1,89 each plus shipping at The Gluten Free Pantry.
The Breakfast Bars are $27.35 for 6 boxes or $4.56 for one box. They cost $5.75 per box plus shipping at The Gluten Free Pantry.
The baking and pancake mix is $36.33 for 6 bags or $6.06 for one bag. The bags cost $6.49 each plus shipping at The Gluten Free Pantry.
