Traditional French Bread Mix, a Product Review

Posted on 2:26 pm by Gluten Free Guy

I worked in Europe for several years, made trips to France to enjoy the wonderful bread, and was really skeptical about trying to duplicate that taste with a gluten free bread mix made in America. Was I expecting too much? Wheat based bread does not taste like bread baked from rice flour.  French bakers and American bakers have little or nothing in common. What did I have to look forward too?

I was pleasantly surprised. The “Traditional French Bread Mix” produced by Cause You’re Special brought back happy memories. The taste and texture was great and brought back great memories. The bread stayed soft and moist for several days even without being frozen.

I’ve never tested gluten free bread baked in France by Frenchmen. If any of you have, I hope that you will send an e-mail at gfceliac@gmail.com or leave a comment at the end of this article. I know that I will be using this bread mix again, but haven’t really decided what role it will play in my celiac diet.

disclosure: The Gluten Free Mall compensates me for this review but has always encouraged me to be honest and straight-forward in my comments.
