Gluten Free Spaghetti Pasta by Dr. Schar:
a Product Review

0 Comments 31 January 2008

I’ve become a great fan of Dr. Schar’s Gluten Free Spaghetti pasta and am pleased to incorporate this spaghetti (and other Dr Shar’s products) into  my celiac disease diet. It tastes great! My wife is equally enthusiastic and assures me that it is OK for our non-celiac friends. It cooked up well and was totally free of “clumps”. I was particularly pleased the next day when I needed a quick lunch and — not expecting much — microwaved the leftover spaghetti and found out that the taste and texture had not deteriorated.

This spaghetti is available from The Gluten Free Mall. It’s wheat and gluten free and also free from eggs, soy, and lactose. It is made in a gluten free facility. One minor criticism: there are no English language cooking instructions on the package. Since my wife and I lived in Europe for several years, this was no problem for us, but I can see how it would be a problem for someone who has little experience cooking pasta and/or has difficulty with directions written in Italian.

Disclosure: The Gluten Free Mall compensates me for these reports but has always encouraged me to be honest and straight-forward in my comments
