The Old Spaghetti Factory: a Gluten Free Restaurant Review

Posted on 10:56 am by Gluten Free Guy

I recently enjoyed a family dinner at The Old Spaghetti Factory. The menu, which is also posted on-line,  lists the various types of pasta that are available, and gluten free pasta was included. My waiter was very aware of gluten free procedures and asked questions in the one case where he was uncertain. When he brought my meal, he mentioned that it was “gluten free”. I always find that reassuring. Everyone in the group (which ranged in age from 4 to 69) had a great time.

IMPORTANT: Keep in mind that gluten free pasta is available at The Old Spaghetti Factory but that all the sauces are not celiac friendly. ASK! I had an interesting conversation with my waiter on my second visit. He had been following procedures for serving gluten free food perfectly, but had no idea why they were important. We had an great conversation.

I loved eating at The Old Spaghetti Factory during my younger (pre-celiac diagnosis) days. I’m glad that I still have that option, at least as long as I am in the states of AZ, CA, CO, GA, HI, ID, IN, MN, MO, OH, OR, TN, UT, or WA. (Click here if you wish to look at the Post Office departments list of two letter abbreviations for each state.)
