Gluten Free Holidays

Posted on 2:15 pm by Gluten Free Guy

Holidays are a time for sharing meals with friends, giving and receiving gifts, and doing other things that are special challenges for the Celiac. My intention is to write a series of articles covering each of the holidays, publishing the articles in time to makethem useful in your holiday planning. Here are my first efforts:

Christmas. I wrote several articles related to Christmas and the Holiday Season.. Click here to read summaries and follow links to them.

Super Bowl Sunday February 3, 2008. This has not yet been declared a holiday, but it is certainly a party day with lots of food issues.

Chinese New Year. Your biggest issue here will be finding gluten free soy sauce. This article will tell you how to accomplish this and give you celiac friendly recipes for foods you might like to try at this time of year.

Valentines Day.  This  is the day for  romantic meals and gifts of food that say "I love you". It can be a great day to be gluten free.

St. Patrick's Day. This holiday revolves around good cheer, great foods, and great beer.

Easter.  Easter is celebrated on March 24th this year. Many options are open to those of us who live gluten free.

Since hopefully you will return to this series of articles at least every holiday, I have placed the word HOLIDAYS in the bar at the top of the page. Click on that button to return here.

In addition to theses holiday articles, I suggest that you check out my piece entitled “gluten free hosts and guests”. This was written to apply to celiac Christmas guests and their hosts, but it applies to virtually any festive occasion.
