My Gluten Free Vacation: a Followup

Comments Off 24 November 2007

I just got back from a wonderful two-week vacation: sunshine, good food, family and friends! It was also an experiment. I had decided to do all my research ahead of time so that I could leave my computer at home. The plan worked. I’m obsessive when I get near my computer. Without it I was able to relax, focus on  family and friends, and enjoy a total change of pace.

This is a followup on an article that I posted on November 5 describing the gluten free research I did prior to the trip. You may wish to check out that article. I forgot one detail — I should have used Mapquest or Google to print out maps leading me to the gluten free restaurants that we visited. The friends  I travelled with were very willing to eat at restaurants that could accomodate my needs and hid their impatience gracefully when we drove all over town looking for them. Lets face it, most gluten free eateries are not large restaurants in easy-to-find locations.
