Gluten Free Holiday Recipe Collections

3 Comments 30 October 2007

Thanksgiving and Christmas, two of the year’s biggest occasions for gluten cooking, are coming soon. It’s time to look through the recipe collections that are available on-line.

One word of caution: If you follow the links I will be giving you, you will land on a page of gluten free recipes. This, of course, does not mean that every recipe on the entire site is gluten free. Read the ingredients list carefully! By the way, I have listed these recipe collections in alphabetical order.

All Recipes. I searched for the words “gluten free” and got 33 results.

The Allergy Grocer. This website features recipes for using the products produced by Miss Roben.

Cooking Cache. I found 50+ gluten free recipes here. They are not designated “holiday recipes”, but you’ll find many that will be appropriate.

Cook’s Recipes. This site contains 20 gluten free recipes, many of which could have a place of honor at your Thanksgiving or Christmas feast.

Epicurious. I found 32 “gluten free Thanksgiving” recipes and 6 “gluten free Christmas” recipes.

Expert Foods. Click on the “low carb and gluten free” box in the right sidebar. Not every recipe is both “low carb” and “gluten free”.

Fitness and Freebies. Unfortunately, this site considers spelt gluten free. Perhaps there are other questionable items that I have missed.

Taste. This is an Australian source so you may find brand names and cooking terms that are not familiar to you.

Whole Foods Market. Whole Foods publishes a collection of gluten free OR dairy free recipes. Many of them are both.

Wild Oats. Wild Oats publishes a large collection of gluten free recipes. Many of them “belong” on your holiday table.

Do you have other suggestions for recipe collections that should be posted here. Use the top button in the middle column of this page to send me an e-mail.

  1. The Allergy Grocer and Cook’s Recipes come up as “error” on my computer.

Hi, I was reading your article and I just wanted to say thank you for putting out such excellent content. There’s so much crap on the internet these days its hard to find anything worthwhile. I actually have cooked this recipe before, I got this book last month on recommendation from a friend http://ninjahq.com/go/cookingrecipes and it turned out really nice! I’m extremely eager to try your variation of it though, it looks excellent. I think you might enjoy those recipes, they’re very good. Thanks for the article and tips.
