Gluten Free Restaurant Chains: Part 1

Posted on 2:55 pm by Gluten Free Guy

8/25/07 These restaurant chains provide meals made with gluten free ingredients. In most cases, non-gluten free meals are also served so there is a possibility of cross contamination. The big advantage of these places is that they are parts of large restaurant chains that provide detailed information about their gluten free offerings. The restaurants on this list are available coast-to-coast.

I've used the Postal Service's list of two-letter abbreviations to identify each of the states. Click here if you need a copy of that list. When you have finished making your copy, click on the arrow in the upper left corner of the screen to come back here.

When eating in any restaurant, I have  three suggestions:

  • Plan ahead. You may not have a large number of choices and you will probably have to request substitutions.

  • On the other hand, don’t be too quick to admit that you have planned ahead. You can learn a great deal about your waiter or waitress by asking questions. If you are not sure that you are in capable hands, you may need to speak with the manager, chef, or someone who can answer your questions.
  • Avoid fried or grilled food. Most contamination occurs when gluten free food are fried or grilled along with other items.

For each of the restaurants listed, I have provided three pieces of information:

  • The name of the restaurant and a few words about the cuisine. Words in quotation marks are taken directly from the restaurants' web aite
  • A link to the gluten free information provided by each restaurant chain.
  • A link that will enable you to find the location of a specific restaurant
  • A list of the states served by these restaurants. In a few cases, this was not possible because of the way the chains website is set up.

The restaurant chains are listed in alphabetical order. Because this list is so long is so long, I have divided it into three separate articles:

  • If you would like to read about the restaurants whose names come between the beginning of the alphabet through Chili's Restaurant, scroll down this page.
  • If you wish to read about the restaurants between Claim Jumper and the Outback Steakhouse, click here.
  • If you want to read about the restaurants between P.F. Changs and the end of the alphabet, please click here.
