Wheatless and Gluten Free Restaurants in Seattle

The web address “Wheatless in Seattle” is obviously attractive to celiacs and all those who embrace the gluten free life-style. The DaVinci Bakery and Café  (the actual restaurant involved) appears to be a worthy home for Kaili McIntyre, creator of this wonderful approach to gluten free dining.

Café Flora seems like a great restaurant with many items labeled gluten free and/or vegan. I did not have the opportunity to visit there during my vacation in June but I am certainly looking forward to doing so.

The Flying Apron Bakery is a wonderful for a snack or light lunch featuring great bakery products. Everything is wheat free and vegan; most items are gluten free. Be sure to visit both locations — each one has a distinct ambience.

Lombardi’s Neighborhood Italian Restaurants has three locations in the Seattle. Their site states that a gluten free menu is available upon request. Click here to find the best location for your dining experience.

Celiac friendly restaurants abound in the Seattle area. There are six Outback Steakhouse Restaurants available; their gluten free menu is available on-line.  You can enjoy P.F. Chang’s gluten free oriental cuisine at three different locations. Click on the name of the restaurant to get locations and on the phrase at the end of the sentence to read the gluten free menu.

Chili’s has wonderful celiac friendly offerings at three restaurants in the area. They obviously care about food sensitivity since they update the information monthly. Why can’t they make that information easier to find? Anyway, here’s the trick: (1) Click on the restaurant name to get a list of all locations in Washington. (2) Click on any of the location that interests you. That will give you the street address you need. (3) Click on the words “Allergens Information” in the lower right corner of the screen. (4) Scroll down to the bottom of that screen and click on “Wheat and Gluten Allergy”. Good luck! The food is worth the effort!
The Bonefish Grill, a subsidiary of The Outback Steakhouse, operates two fine restaurants in the Seattle. For locations, click the restaurant name. Click here to read their gluten free menu.

The Claim Jumper restaurant serves satisfied celiac customers at three locations in Washington. For locations, click on the restaurant name. Click here to read their suggestions for gluten free dining.

Click on the restaurant name for information about dining at Romanos Macaroni Grill. That same page includes allergen information, but this firm seems to delight in hiding this valuable data. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on the words “Allergen Information”. Scroll down the new page and click on the words “Wheat and Gluten Allergy”. The food is worth the effort.

Wendy’s is your best choice for fast food in Seattle as well as almost anywhere else in the country. Click on the name to get addresses of the ten locations in the area. Click here to see their list of “menu items without gluten”. With so many minimally-trained employees working in a relatively small area, I doubt that any fast food place is truly gluten free, but at least this sheet gives you a place to start.
