First of all, be assured that boiled lobster is gluten free. There may be complications if your lobster is broiled or if it is stuffed with anything. The 99 Restaurants chain serves family style meals in Bangor (207-973-1999), Augusta (207-623-0999), Auburn (207-784-9499), Topsham (207-725-4999), and Biddeford (207-283-9999). Click here for their list of foods that contain gluten or allergens. Be aware that there are relatively few gluten free items. But if you consult this list ahead of time, you can certainly enjoy a gluten free meal in any of these locations.

  Maine offers abundant opportunities — in the mountains or at the seashore — for exquisite picnics. Do your shopping at Hannafords Supermarket; they publish a gluten free list that is generic enough to use at almost any grocery store.
