7/9/07  I had fun eating gluten free waffle ice cream cones produced by Barkat and available from The Gluten Free Mall. The cones are wheat free, gluten free, egg free, milk free, corn free, kosher, and vegetarian.

  Yes, ice cream cones can survive being shipped through the mail. That was my first question when I agreed to write this review. There were two cones (out of a total of ten) that had minor chips, but all the cones were usable.

  The kids I tested this on raved about the ice cream but did not mention the cones. That’s a great compliment. Apparently the taste and appearance of cones was exactly what they expected and wanted.

I don’t believe that I have eaten an ice cream cone (gluten free or otherwise) in the last decade. I had forgotten how great ice cream cones taste. My wife was enthusiastic about these cones. A good ice cream cone is a combination of delicious flavors and that taste experience is available to people on a celiac disease diet.
