Identifying Gluten Free Restaurants

1 Comment 18 April 2007

I recently enjoyed a delicious dinner at Flambe in Oregon City, a suburb of Portland. This restaurant serves delicious and totally safe food and has a wonderful reputation with the gluten free community of Portland. I’ve described this visit on my post Gluten Free Dining in Portland.

I’m writing about it here because of what it did not have: a gluten free menu on its website. This, of course, is a criticism of the website and not an argument against this wonderful restaurant. Flambe impressed me so much that I have decided to abandon my policy against recommending any establishment that does not advertise itself as gluten free. I’ll make sure that you know exactly how I got the information that I pass on to you.

I’m also issuing an  appeal to all gluten free restaurants —- we need you. Help us find you!

  1. I do not suffer from celiac, but I have a good friend who does. We live in Colorado Springs, Colorado and I would love to hear from others in Colorado Springs who have found good restaurants that have safe gluten-free environments without contamination. We are getting tired of eating at the same restaurant (Pei Wei), and would love to try something different.
    Thank you!

Gluten Free Food & Ingredients Choices

To find out if any food or ingredient is (or can be) gluten free, type the name of the item that concerns you in the search box in the top right corner of the screen. Your computer will generate a special page for you containing the title and first few sentences of any of my articles that deal with that topic. It will also connect you if you want to read the whole article.
