Gluten Free Pizza

4/26/07  Gluten free pizza is not easy to find, but it is definitely worth the search.. I’ve written articles  on gluten free dining in six American cities: Boston, Chicago, Denver, New York, Portland Oregon, and Seattle.  In each city, I discovered at least one source of gluten free pizza. Click on the city’s name and enjoy the feast.

I’ve also learned that  Roman’s Pizza in Knoxville, Tennessee serves the gluten free community so well that Knoxville's celiac support group holds all its meetings there.

If you live in Florida, check out Pizza Fusion. Currently, there are only two locations in or near Miami, but they are attempting to launch a franchise operation. I wish them well!

Bellini's Ristorante Italiano in North Conway, New Hampshire, offers six delicious types of gluten free pizza.

The Risotteria in New York City serves wonderful Italian food. Their gluten free pizzza comes highly recommended.

Pizza Works features gluten free pizza at its restaurant in Bothell, a suburb of Seattle, Washington.

Pizza Picazzo, with six locations in and around Scottsdale, Arizona, will serve any of its pizzas on a gluten free crust. Pizza Picazzo is also well known for its delicious salads. It's gluten free menu is available on-line.

Help me finish the list I've started. I hope you've discovered neat places to get a gluten free pizza. Pizza is a wonderful treat  and great food— we celiac's deserve it. If you know places that should be on this list, share the wealth by leaving a comment at the end of this article or by e-mailing me at gfceliac@gmail.com

You can enjoy gluten free pizza at home. The big issue here is preparing a gluten free pizza crust. Click here for some ideas on that subject. Since pizza and beer go well together, you might wish to read my article on gluten free beer.

There is a great restaurant for gluten free pizza in Scottsdale called Picazzo's Pizza and Salads. Great choice of gf pizza and salads. Also sells the raw dough for take home, it makes great focaccia. They maintain separate utensils and prep areas in the kitchen.
