The Denver recently published a great article “Area Caters to Gluten Free Palates” which includes at least 20 recommendations for eating gluten free in Denver and the surrounding area. I’ve requested the newspaper’s permission to republish it on my site, but I suggest that you click on the title to download it now. Newspaper archives often do not remain on-line for very long.

Deby’s Gluten Free Bakery and Café (yes, I spelled the name correctly) is probably the most widely recommended celiac friendly establishment in the area. There are branches in Denver, Highlands Ranch. Erie, and even as far away as Casper, Wyoming. I have eaten some of the great foods they distribute on-line. I wonder how they’ll taste fresh from the source.
Beau Jo’s Colorado Style Pizza has six locations in Colorado and uses pizza crust supplied by Deby’s Gluten Free Bakery and Café. The link will take you directly to their gluten free menu.
Wholly Tomato will prepare any of their fine sandwiches on gluten free soda bread.
The Rheinlander Bakery has a dedicated facility for preparing their gluten free products. They also package mixes that they refer to as “Bake it Yourself Cakes”. I like that attitude!
Abrusci’s claims to serve “the best damned Italian food…period”. All that plus a gluten free menu — what else could we ask for?
Twenty restaurants in the Denver area qualified for the Gluten Intolerance Groups Gluten Free Restaurants Program. Click here for complete information. P.F. Changs has four locations in the area; gluten free dining is always available there.
Denver looks like a great place to live gluten free. Someday I hope to experience these restaurants in person rather than depending on the internet for information. I’d love to hear from people who have actually experienced these places as well as those who have other places to recommend.

I just wanted to let people know about Udi's Gluten Free line and Denver based Cafes. Their gluten free line includes, two types of breads, these breads believe it or not taste like actual food. These breads don't fall apart when you look at them, or have to be slathered and smothered in anything just to taste like real food. The breads have a great consistency and go well with any kind of sandwich.
If it is more then bread that you are looking for I would recommend the cinnamon rolls, just like the ones your grandma used to make. These are gooey again tasting like real food, the cinnamon is distrubuted through out the roll and has the just the right amount of frosting that makes the rolls perfect. All you have to do is warm them up for a few minutes in the microwave or oven and you are good to go.
If you thought the cinnamon rolls sounded good wait until you try the muffins, both blueberry and lemon strusel. These are perfect in the morning with cereal and juice or tea, Both have a nice consistancy and create a nice mood for a snack,
All of these can be found in the freezer section in King Soopers these products should be kept frozen because they do not have preservatives and that is the best way to keep them fresh tasting. If you want more information about these products and the Udi's Cafes log onto http://www.udisfood.com/.
