Gluten Free Passover

0 Comments 21 March 2007

An article titled Why Passover is a Gluten Free Goldmine was recently published on the blog Gluten Free by the Bay. Most Passover foods are gluten free, thus providing all of us with a way to put some variety in our diet and take advantage of the fact that Passover foods will be relatively easy to obtain. Collections of appropriate recipes are available from The Allergy Grocer and Recipezaar.com. The Gluten Free Mall labels its products Kosher wherever the title fits. Shop By Diet.com allows you to check off the food sensitivities that concern you and browse only the appropriate items. Gluten free Matzos are available using this link. (They use oats that are certified gluten free). You’ll need to scroll down the page to find distributors in the U.S. The Ramapo Valley Brewery produces a beer that is both gluten free and “kosher for Passover”. I hope these notes help. As a gluten free Methodist I know almost nothing about Jewish dietary laws and customs, so please let me know if there are any errors of omissions. UPDATE: I have already received one comment that was obviously written by a person who really understands the issues involved in gluten free Passover food. Be sure to read it.
