The phrase “Wheatless in Seattle” is obviously attractive to celiacs and all those who embrace the gluten free life-style. The DaVinci Bakery and Café appears to be a worthy home for chef Kaili McIntyre, creator of this wonderful approach to gluten free dining. Reading the Seattle Times review of this restaurant makes me want to ignore the rain and schedule a trip to Seattle. Café Flora seems like a great restaurant with many items labeled gluten free and/or vegan. I hope someone will check out their website, dine at this fine restaurant, and let me know if it is as good as it looks. The Flying Apron Bakery looks like a wonderful for a snack or light lunch featuring great bakery products. Everything is wheat free and vegan; most items are gluten free. Be sure to visit both locations — each one has a distinct ambience. Lombardi’s Neighborhood Italian Restaurants has three locations in the Seattle. Their site states that a gluten free menu is available upon request. Click here to find the best location for your dining experience. As you may have guessed, I reviewed websites in this post — I have not yet had the opportunity to visit these restaurants. I hope that someone who has will give me first hand information by using the COMMENTS button in the lower right corner of the post or e-mailing me at glutenfreeceliac@gmail.com. Just wanted to let you know that we have been selling Gluten Free Pizza in Bothell, WA (a suburb just NE of Seattle) since March.

    Wonderful!
I have a gluten, & dairy allergy. This restaurant is absolutely superb! I went for the first time last Saturday and ordered a gluten/dairy free waffle! It was the tastiest waffle I’ve ever had! (Even compared to the ones with white flour!) The ambience in the restaurant is so pleasant. They are mostly vegetarian with vegan choices and gluten free and dairy free choices. They also are “Green” ordering from local places as opposed to trucking things in. Try it! You’ll love it!

I just wanted to know what restaurant Krissy in Renton was referring to. I have been looking for a restaurant with GF waffles, pancakes, breakfast, etc for a long time. Thanks!

I frequented DaVinci Cafe often when I lived in Seattle. They are changing their name to “Wheatless in Seattle”.
Kaili Macintyre the owner is a fabuloous chef and she creates some of the most decadent and fabulous wheat free/gluten free items on the market today. Her gluten free pizza crusts, breads and desserts are also available at a growing number of eateries in the Seattle Metroplex. Check in with them to see where they are currently available.

Yes, Cafe Flora is one of the most delicious restaurants in Seattle. Definitely worth scheduling into your dining experience list for a Seattle trip.

I also enjoy Flying Apron Bakery goodies…they have a rustic multigrain loaf I enjoy. When I can’t make it to Kaili’s I pick up muffins and brownies in local grocery store like Central Market on 155th in Shoreline & Madison Market on Capital Hill. In addition to their bakery location my favorite way to get their items is at various Farmers Markets in the Seattle Metroplex.

Now that I have moved back to Louisiana, I am grateful for having had the stress free dining experiences of eating in gluten free eateries in Seattle.

Thanks for the tips. I live in the Bay Area, and I cannot believe how many gf choices you guys have in Seattle. I did try Lombardi’s and it was great. I also tried Joey’s. It is right next to the Space Needle and it’s got a wide gluten free menu.
Btw, I added all of these locations to socialsimmer.com.

DaVinci’s Pizza in Seattle is offering Gluten Free and Low-carb pizzas now. Try out it is fantastic.

I’ve actually been very disappointed in Wheatless in Seattle. I’ve tried their lemon loaf cake from PCC market and their bread at Homegrown Sandwiches and their wedding cake at an open house event. All of their stuff has the same flavor and texture of the rice bread at Trader Joe’s, which is awful. Dense and crumbly with an almost musty taste. I was amazed so many on this article liked it. Flying Apron is good if not a little sandy in texture, from the vegan part I’m sure. Cafe Flora had wonderful desert but not great dinner, for GF and not. I’m always amazed at the limited scope of gluten free in a place like Seattle, yes gluten free pizza is at a lot of Italian restaurants now, but other than that I don’t find a lot of creativity like you see in normal Seattle chefs, which I miss.
