Absolutely!!!! Federal law limits your liability to $50, and even that is normally waived if you report the problem promptly. A credit card is the only realistic way to purchase your wheat and gluten free food on-line. Obviously, you can’t send cash. If you send a check, you give people all the information they need to clear out your bank account. Personally, I would not use a debit card. The rules are essentially the same, but a person who has that card number has the power to make your life really inconvenient. I use two credit cards — one for my on-line activities and one for everything else. That has nothing to do with security, it just makes it easier for me to compare my receipts with my card statement.
Keep in mind that if you have problems involving your credit card, it is not because you are using it on the internet. It means that a human got access to your information and misused it. So, the question is this: Who do you trust more — the people at your local gas station or the employees of a company that needs your good will to stay in the mail-order business?
