Many restaurants have developed special menus and/or specific written guidance for their clients who live wheat free or gluten free. As a matter of fact, I discovered so many that I can't imagine placing all of them in one document.

If you are interested in the Outback Steakhouse, P.F. Chang's China Bistro, and Chili's — the three major restaurant chains that serve the entire nation, click here. Otherwise, continue reading about restaurant chains that serve wheat free/gluten free food in various parts of the country.

My comments on these restaurant chains will be relatively brief, since my information comes from studying web sites rather than visiting restaurants.  Click on the name of the restaurant chain to get specific information about locations.

Austin Grill, featuring Tex-Mex cuisine with six locations in the D.C. area. Click here for their gluten free menu.

Biaggi’s Restaurant Italiano. There is no gluten free menu posted on-line, but the web site states that “gluten free pastas are available”.

Bonefish Grill. This restaurant chain is an affiliate of The Outback Steakhouse, and — like its parent company — provides a gluten free menu.

Cheeseburger in Paradise. Believe it or not, there are actually burger joints with gluten free menus. The bad news is that you will have to ask for your burger without a bun and forgo a few other items. This is all spelled out on their downloadable gluten free menu.

Don Pablo's, a chain of Mexican restaurants. Click here for a list of gluten free items. Be aware, you will need to click on Nutritional Information when you get to this page and then scroll to page 8 of a 10 page document to find the information you are looking for. Yes, the food is good enough to make it worth the effort.

Legal Seafoods, a chain of seafood restaurants, You probably guessed that from the name. Click here to read their gluten free menu.

PeiWei Diner, affiliated with P.F. Chang's, and providing a wheat free/gluten free menu. PeiWei has lications in 18 states.

Romano's Macaroni Bar, despite what you might think from looking at the name, serves gluten free food. Not only that, but it shows great concern for all food-sensitive people by publishing options list for nine different food sensitivities and up-dating those lists monthly . The gluten free list is the last item on the rather lengthy  page.

Ted's Montana Grill, provides instructions for dining wheat free/gluten free. It's interesting to note that there are no locations in Montana or in the western U.S. [

Uno Chicago Grill provides a list of gluten free itemsand has restaurants in 32 states.

Wildfire Restaurants, a chain of upscale restaurants which provides a wheat free/gluten free menu. [

I'm sure that there are many more restaurant chains that could be added to this post. Let me know of others by using the COMMENT button in the lower right corner of this post. Keep in mind that I insist on documentary evidence (usually something published on the internet) for all the information that I post.
