Gluten Free Alcoholic Beverages

Posted on 4:32 pm by Gluten Free Guy
I need to review the rules for gluten free alocoholic drinks at least once each holiday season. There seems to be general agreement that whiskey, bourbon, gin, and rye are definite no-no's because they are made from rye. Wine, brandy, tequila, and vodka made from potatos is OK. There are major differences of opinion about distilled beverages — does the distillation process remove the ingredients that are toxic to us??? I found a great site called glutenfreedrinks.com. There are hundreds of great recipes. The bright spot of my visit to this site was a letter from the manufacturers of Bailey's Irish Cream stating that their product is gluten free. I'll check that out during the Christmas season and let you know! There are at least two brands of gluten free beer available. I'll save that for a separate post. For your convenience, I've tried to summarize all my Christmas suggestions on a page I've dubbed "The Gluten Free Christmas Page". Click on the title if you would like to read almost everything I know about the Yuletide season.
